HAIR
1.  Figure out which friend or co-worker has hair you like the most
2.  Ask her for the name & contact information of her salon
3.  Book an appointment with her stylist
4.  Look through magazines and begin to pull photos of hair that you love
5.  When you meet with the stylist, tell him or her that you are doing your own makeover and show him or her the styles you were thinking about.
6.  Ask the stylist to recommend which one he or she thinks would complement your face and lifestyle the best.
7.  Be sure to talk through your new haircut before you do it.  Then, let yourself trust the professional!
8.  Allow a day or two to get used to yourself in your new look.  Remember, if this is a dramatic change, it may take your loved ones a little while to get used to your new look, too.  Don't be discouraged if they don't quite know what to say at first.
9.  If you hate it, wait a couple months and try again.  After all, it's only hair and it grows back!

Make-up
1.  Take a look at the makeup features and ads in the fashion mags for this season.
2.  Pull out the looks that you like best
3.  Choose three major makeup lines from the articles you've pulled.
4.  Call your nearest department store to make appointments with the makeup artist for those three lines (this should be free).  Or, book an appointment at Sephora for a variety of makeup lines.
5.  Have the artist write down the products s/he used in your makeover.  Ask him or her to star the items that are absolutely critical.  Then, ask him or her to take a photo of you after your makeover
6.  Pick the one that made you feel best!
7.  Send the photos to a trusted friend to confirm your choice.
8.  Check out the links below to buy the pieces you loved!

Try InStyle's Makeup Match -- you pick a star's makeup that you love and create a color chart to match!
