DailyOutfit:  Fall Make-Up

by Judy Chen, Make-up Artist

I picked the eye and cheek colors specifically to fit a large range of complexions.  Anyone who is fair skinned to medium dark can wear them.  I'm also happy to answer any questions if you have them!  Please email me at jude30_74 (a) yahoo.com.

EYES:

NARS DECAMERON CREAMY SHADOW ($22):  Creamy eyeshadows are luminous and can save you time in application. They also can look dressy because of their sheen. For a quick application, use your ring finger to pat color all over the lid bringing it just above the crease. You can combine other colors on top of this one: nice combinations would be a violet or a shimmery black for evening. Tip: Use a synthetic hair brush ($26) like this one from Laura Mercier for a more precise application.

MAC FLUIDLINE ($15):  Sometimes a black liner can be too deep for the day so I love this alternative: a beautiful deep matte brown from M•A•C Cosmetics: the color name is dipdown.  This is a gel liner that will give you a beautiful clean line without pulling at your eye the way pencils do.  Also available in macroviolet -- purple is a hot color for eyes this Fall.

MAC SMALL ANGLE BRUSH ($20):  The best brush to get a flawless application is with Brush 266 from MAC.  Although it may seem more time consuming to use a brush, as you practice putting it on, you will get quicker and find that you love this look.  Plus -- it stays put all day long!

KEVIN AUCOIN EYELASH CURLER ($20):  Curl your lashes with this great eyelash curler and finish with mascara.

LIPS:

FRESH SPF 15 LIP TREATMENT ($22):  For a casual day look this fall, try this tinted lip SPF 15. It’s quick and hydrating and you can layer with other colors. The color is universally flattering and if worn alone it is a sheer wash of deep plum.

LAURA MERCIER LIP PENCIL ($20):  For a little more luxury in the evening, line your lips with this liner in Very Cherry.

LAURA MERCIER LIP GLACE ($22):  For evening, top your lips with this great lip glaze in Plum Noir.

FACE:

LAURA MERCIER MINERAL PRESSED POWDER SPF 15 ($35):  Foundation and Concealer is essential to your look all year round.  A correct match for your skin is important so make sure you are matched at the store by someone who knows the color range of their product.  When you are pressed for time or just want something convenient, a pressed powder is a great solution.  I particularly love this product.  Tip: I apply this with a broad MAC powder brush ($42) so that it's a more sheer application than with a sponge.  This brush can also be used to apply bronzer.  Just be sure to clean it with Brush Cleaner ($18) between uses.

BOBBI BROWN CONCEALER KIT ($32):  A concealer that works with your skin tone is important. Not wearing concealer can actually age you, believe it or not. This great combination kit is a creamy concealer and setting powder all in one package. Not only is the texture perfect but their color range is extensive so everyone should be able to find the right color. For the best finish, apply concealer with a concealer brush. Tip: Make concealer last and prevent creasing by applying a dusting of loose powder with a puff or a small eye brush.

BOBBI BROWN SHIMMER BLUSH ($22):  To restore the healthy color of your skin, dust this blush on the apples of your cheeks.  I specifically recommend the Plum Wine color.

ESSENTIALS:

AWAKE MAKEUP REMOVER ($15):  A gentle formula to remove eye & lip makeup without leaving an oily residue.  Formulated with watercress and mallow extracts to help retain skin moisture.  Made in Japan

LAURA MERCIER BRUSH CLEANER ($18):  This formula quickly cleans your brushes removing unwanted bacteria without drying them out.  Use the handy cap to dip your brushes into.  Dries quickly without any residue.
